Savitri Jindal Biography

Savitri Jindal is an Indian businesswoman and politician. She was born on March 20, 1950, in Tinsukia, Assam, India. Savitri Jindal is a member of the prominent Jindal family, which is known for its business empire in various sectors, including steel, power, and infrastructure.

Savitri Jindal's husband, Om Prakash Jindal, was the founder of Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), one of the largest steel companies in India. Following her husband's death in a helicopter crash in 2005, Savitri Jindal took charge of the Jindal Group and became the chairperson of JSPL.

Apart from her business responsibilities, Savitri Jindal has also been involved in politics. She is a member of the Indian National Congress party and has served as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the Haryana state legislative assembly. She represented the Hisar constituency from 2005 to 2009.
