Pema Khandu (CM ) Biography Arunachal Pradesh

 Pema Khandu is an Indian politician from the state of Arunachal Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has served as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh since July 2016. Pema Khandu comes from a political family; his father, Dorjee Khandu, was also the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

Pema Khandu was born on August 21, 1979, in Gyangkhar village in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. He completed his schooling from the government schools in Tawang and later graduated from Hindu College, University of Delhi. After completing his studies, he got involved in social and political activities in his home state.

In 2011, Pema Khandu contested the by-elections to the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Mukto constituency, which was previously represented by his father. He emerged victorious and entered the state legislature. However, his father, Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu, tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in April 2011.

In the 2014 Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, Pema Khandu contested again from the Mukto constituency and won with a significant margin. He became a cabinet minister in the state government, holding the portfolios of Tourism and Water Resources.

Following a series of political developments in Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, along with several other legislators, switched allegiance from the Indian National Congress to the BJP in December 2016. This led to a change in the government, and he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh on July 17, 2016.

Pema Khandu's tenure as the Chief Minister has seen various developmental initiatives in Arunachal Pradesh. He has focused on infrastructure development, education, tourism promotion, and improving the quality of life for the people of the state. His government has also emphasized the connectivity of remote areas and the development of border areas to enhance security and socio-economic growth.

Pema Khandu's popularity among the people of Arunachal Pradesh has grown, and he has successfully led the BJP to win the 2019 Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. He continues to serve as the Chief Minister, working towards the progress and welfare of the state and its people.
