Biography:

Dietrich Mateschitz was born on May 20, 1944, in Sankt Marein im Mürztal, Styria, Austria. He studied marketing and international business at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. After completing his education, he gained experience in the marketing and cosmetics industries.

In 1984, Mateschitz discovered an energy drink called Krating Daeng while on a business trip to Thailand. Impressed by its energizing effects, he saw the potential to introduce it to the Western market. Along with his Thai business partner, Chaleo Yoovidhya, he adapted the formula and founded the company Red Bull GmbH in 1984.

The iconic Red Bull energy drink was launched in Austria in 1987 and gradually expanded into international markets. It became wildly successful and turned into one of the most recognized and consumed energy drinks worldwide. Red Bull's marketing strategies, including sponsoring extreme sports and events, played a significant role in establishing the brand's global presence.

Mateschitz's role in the success of Red Bull has made him one of the wealthiest individuals in Austria and the world. He has been known for his private nature and rarely gives interviews or makes public appearances.

Aside from Red Bull, Mateschitz has invested in various ventures, including Formula 1 racing teams and professional soccer clubs, further expanding his business interests.
